Imports & Exports Coordinator

About the role

The Imports & Exports Coordinator will lead all import and export activities for a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) operation in Nairobi. You will ensure seamless documentation, customs clearance, and shipment delivery while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end import and export processes, from documentation to final delivery.
• Handle inquiries from suppliers, customers, freight forwarders and other stakeholders.
• Track shipments, resolve delays, and manage logistics challenges.
• Liaise with customs authorities and freight forwarders to secure smooth clearance.
• Prepare, process and maintain ADF forms and all required import/export paperwork.
• Arrange marine/cargo insurance for goods in transit.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, customs documents, and insurance.
• Produce regular reports on import/export performance for management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in imports and exports, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Age 35 years or older.
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations and ADF forms.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
