Information Systems Assistant

About the role

The Information Systems Assistant provides first‑line operational support and continuous monitoring of the United Nations Office at Nairobi’s ICT infrastructure, including networks, data centres and supporting environmental systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform real‑time monitoring of ICT infrastructure using centralized platforms.
• Detect, log, classify and prioritize incidents and events.
• Conduct initial diagnostics, fault isolation and first‑line resolution.
• Escalate incidents to technical teams, service providers or vendors as required.
• Maintain incident records, updates and communication throughout the resolution process.
• Provide service‑desk support for network, infrastructure and connectivity services, including after‑hours coverage.
• Monitor service performance across enterprise environments, including wireless and remote‑access services.
• Track environmental systems such as power and cooling and respond to alerts.

Required profile

• Works under the general supervision of the Chief, UNON/ICTS/IMS and the direct supervision of the NOC Supervisor.
