Infrastructure Engineer – Vulnerability, DevOps & Automation

About the role

This remote contract position is for an Infrastructure Engineer focused on vulnerability remediation, DevOps and automation. The role will strengthen security, reliability and automated patching across large‑scale Windows and Linux environments for a partner organization based in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Lead vulnerability remediation initiatives on Windows and Linux servers, aligning with enterprise security standards.
• Plan, coordinate and support automated OS patching for production and non‑production systems while minimizing downtime.
• Collaborate with application teams, risk management and IT stakeholders to validate systems before and after patching.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, manage change requests in ServiceNow and maintain documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve patching or remediation issues affecting stability, performance or compliance.
• Develop and improve automation scripts to make remediation and patching more efficient, scalable and repeatable.
• Share knowledge within DevOps and infrastructure communities of practice and mentor peers.
• Communicate schedules, risks and validation requirements to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering, vulnerability management and automated patching.
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with Agile and change‑management processes.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across teams.
