Interior Architect

About the role

Zb Constructions Limited is looking for a senior Interior Architect to lead the interior design process for large‑scale mixed‑use, hospitality and commercial developments in Nairobi. You will be responsible for translating client visions into detailed interior solutions, managing the design from concept through FF&E installation while ensuring compliance with budgets, timelines and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead interior design from concept development to FF&E installation.
• Coordinate design information with architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Develop and present creative design proposals, material selections and mood boards.
• Define technical specifications and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Review and approve construction documents, shop drawings, material samples and FF&E specifications.
• Support project managers with interior budget tracking and cost estimation.
• Monitor construction and fit‑out progress to maintain design intent.
• Ensure documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate furniture, fixtures, finishes and supplier activities.
• Mentor junior designers and collaborate with other design disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive interior design and project management experience.
• Proven experience with large‑scale, high‑end mixed‑use, hospitality or commercial projects.
• Active registration with a recognized professional body (preferred).
• Excellent communication, leadership and visualization abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced proficiency in Rhinoceros.
• Advanced proficiency in SketchUp.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of sustainable interior practices such as LEED and EDGE.
