Internal Audit Assistant – 6‑month contract

About the role

The Internal Audit Assistant will support the internal audit function of a leading FMCG and pharmaceutical client in Nairobi. Working under senior auditors, you will help execute audit assignments, verify transactions, and contribute to improving governance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned audit activities according to the approved work plan, ensuring timely completion.
• Perform independent verification of client orders through surprise checks of picked and packed items.
• Conduct inventory cycle counts on selected stock items and reconcile records in the ERP system.
• Prepare clear audit reports documenting findings, control gaps and recommendations for management.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience as an assistant auditor.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• CPA or ACCA certification – minimum Level 2.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in report writing.
• High proficiency in MS Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
