Inventory Accountant Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Inventory Accountant Assistant to join our manufacturing finance team in Nairobi. The role supports accurate inventory accounting, reconciliations and reporting, working closely with Stores, Procurement, Production and Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory and accounting records, monitoring stock movements, receipts, issues and transfers.
• Reconcile physical stock with system records, investigate variances and support month‑end stock and accounting reconciliations.
• Participate in stock counts, inventory reconciliations and preparation of inventory‑related financial reports.
• Verify inventory documentation to ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
• Ensure inventory transactions are accurately captured in SAP and other accounting systems.
• Collaborate with Stores, Procurement, Production and Finance teams to resolve inventory issues.
• Perform other accounting and inventory‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor of Commerce, CPA or equivalent accounting qualification is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Practical experience with SAP (mandatory).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
