IT Maintenance Assistant

About the role

StarTimes Group is looking for an IT Maintenance Assistant to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, networks and IT equipment across its headquarters and outlet shops. The role works closely with the IT team to ensure the technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain company servers, network devices and VPN links.
• Install, configure and set up new computers in the office and StarTimes outlet shops.
• Provide support for office network, printers, and all IT equipment.
• Deliver system support and training to call‑center agents and business point agents.
• Send departmental SMS notifications and update the company website as required.
• Inspect and monitor the server room and nationwide VPN infrastructure.
• Manage hardware and software for call‑center computers and provide contact‑center/customer‑service support.
• Compile daily reports, ensure data backups and assist with disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Document maintenance activities and technical issues.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors or management.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
• Entry‑level candidate (under 30 years of age) with up to 1 month of experience.
• Ability to work under pressure, in shift systems, including night shifts and weekends.
• High integrity, honesty and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Cisco equipment configuration.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience installing Windows operating systems.
• Understanding of MySQL, Oracle and SQL database management.
• Familiarity with VPN technologies and network troubleshooting.
