IT & Systems Engineer (NetSuite)

About the role

We are looking for an IT & Systems Engineer specialized in NetSuite to design, develop and maintain scalable enterprise solutions that support core business operations. The role involves creating customizations, integrations and automated workflows to enhance data integrity, system performance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable system architecture, custom applications and extensions using JavaScript (ES5/ES6) and, where applicable, Python or Java.
• Create and maintain custom records, forms, fields, workflow automations and scheduled/background jobs within NetSuite.
• Build and manage REST/SOAP API integrations with external platforms such as CRM, billing, payment gateways and other operational systems.
• Design, optimise and maintain database schemas, queries and data models to ensure performance and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot system issues, script errors and performance bottlenecks, ensuring adherence to development standards and documentation.
• Support business teams during critical operational cycles and participate in system audits, testing and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in systems/software engineering, application development or a similar technical role.
• Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer, cloud platform, database or accounting certifications).

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES5/ES6) for both client‑side and server‑side development.
• Experience with Python, Java or other programming languages is advantageous.
• Solid database design and SQL skills, including data modeling and query optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing REST and SOAP API integrations.
• Familiarity with NetSuite SuiteCloud development and customization.
• Understanding of system audit trails, security and governance practices in enterprise environments.
