About the role
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Junior Consultant to support the Chemicals and Pollution Action Sub‑programme. The role focuses on coordinating, monitoring and reporting activities to ensure alignment with UNEP’s strategic plans.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical and coordination support for the Chemicals and Pollution Action Sub‑programme.
- Update and track portfolio and project pipelines, conduct portfolio reviews and ensure quality of project concepts and documents.
- Guide IPMR (Integrated Project Management Reporting) workflows and develop planning and monitoring tools.
- Consolidate corporate and donor reporting inputs and prepare briefing materials for CPR and governance meetings.
- Analyse programme interlinkages, strategic priorities and prepare synthesis briefs on lessons learned and best practices.
- Organise and document coordination meetings, pollution dialogues and follow‑up on action points.
- Maintain a knowledge repository and support knowledge‑management activities.
Required profile
- University degree in environmental studies, policy, international development or a related field.
- Relevant experience in programme coordination, monitoring, reporting or knowledge management.
- Familiarity with UN processes and ability to work with multiple divisions, sub‑programmes and regional offices.
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent written communication skills.
