Junior Financial Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Financial Analyst to support the financial performance, operational efficiency, and growth of Mogo Kenya. The role offers exposure across treasury, financial control, business control, and fundraising, providing a solid foundation in finance operations. It is a hands‑on analytical position for an early‑career professional who enjoys working with data.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day cash management, reconcile bank and payment‑platform balances, and prepare cash position and liquidity reports.
• Build and maintain dashboards and analyses (Excel, SQL, Python) to identify cost‑saving and process‑optimization opportunities across operations.
• Assist in the production of P&L, balance sheet, and portfolio analytics, and help with forecasting, budgeting, and inter‑company recharge schedules.
• Prepare data, analyses, and presentation materials for fundraising and investor relations, and maintain data rooms and covenant tracking.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Up to 2 years of practical experience in finance, treasury, audit, FP&A, or data analytics (internship or early‑career role).
• Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, model structuring).
• SQL – ability to write queries for data extraction and aggregation.
• Python – comfortable using pandas for data cleaning, analysis, and basic automation.
• Experience with BI and data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
