Lab Technician – Electrical and Electronic Engineering

About the role

Zetech University is seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department. The role involves maintaining a safe, well‑organized laboratory environment while assisting lecturers and students with practical sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Document laboratory procedures, experiments, and results accurately.
• Manage inventory of reagents, chemicals, and other supplies, including ordering and storage.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with safety regulations and protocols.
• Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment regularly.
• Operate equipment to conduct chemical, microbiological, and histological tests.
• Prepare, preserve, and store samples according to standard procedures.
• Assist lecturers in marking and grading practical work reports.
• Set up laboratories for student practical sessions and supervise experiments.
• Develop and update laboratory manuals, rules, and procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Member of the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) with a practising licence.
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar laboratory role.
• Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related qualification from a recognised university.
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
