Lead Pharmacist

About the role

The Lead Pharmacist will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for pharmacy services across Mini Group’s expanding network of clinics, pharmacies, infusion centres and healthcare facilities in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and standardise pharmacy services across all organisational sites.
• Develop and execute pharmacy strategic plans aligned with corporate growth objectives.
• Ensure full compliance with Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Ministry of Health, narcotic and psychotropic regulations, and Good Pharmacy Practice standards.
• Lead licensing, inspections, audits, SOP development and governance frameworks.
• Oversee oncology pharmacy operations, including safe preparation, aseptic compounding, clean‑room management and chemotherapy verification.
• Serve as Pharmacy Lead for clinical research and trials, managing investigational medicinal products and GCP compliance.
• Direct pharmaceutical forecasting, procurement planning, supplier negotiations, inventory tracking, cold‑chain monitoring and controlled‑drug management.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (or Diploma) from a recognised institution.
• Registered Pharmacist with Kenya’s Pharmacy and Poisons Board and a valid annual practising licence.
• Minimum 7 years of pharmacy practice experience and at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Demonstrated experience in oncology pharmacy, clinical trials, procurement, regulatory compliance and team leadership.
• Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Management or Business Administration is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications (GCP, Oncology Pharmacy, Aseptic Compounding, Research Administration, Nutrition) are a plus.
