Loans Relationship Officer

About the role

The Loans Relationship Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships while driving loan portfolio growth. This full‑time position is based in Nairobi and focuses on delivering tailored financial solutions to both existing and prospective customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Proactively engage potential clients to expand the loan portfolio.
• Assess loan applications, gather documentation, verify information, and conduct preliminary risk assessments.
• Recommend and facilitate loan approvals in line with established guidelines.
• Monitor loan disbursement, repayment schedules, and address delinquency issues promptly.
• Promote loan products, meet monthly sales and disbursement targets, and educate clients on terms and conditions.
• Prepare reports on loan performance and associated risks.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in any field.
• At least 1 year of experience as a loans or relationship officer in a SACCO, MFI, or bank.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Good understanding of loan products, credit assessments, and financial services.
• Ability to work independently and achieve set targets.
