Maintenance Machinist – Production Technical Workshop

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Machinist to join our Production Technical Workshop. The role focuses on precision machining, fabrication, and repair of aircraft components, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and supporting aircraft safety and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders, CNC equipment) to manufacture, modify, or restore aircraft parts.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and aviation specifications (ATA 100, EASA guidelines).
• Conduct dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Perform surface‑finishing processes such as honing, deburring, polishing, and thread repair.
• Document work in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards (work orders, job cards).
• Collaborate with engineers and inspectors to validate tolerances and identify re‑work.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and workshop capability upgrades.

Required profile

• Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Machining, or Aircraft Maintenance Technology.
• Minimum 3 years experience in an aviation or aerospace machine‑shop environment.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

• Tool selection and cutting speed/feed calculations
• Surface‑finishing techniques (honing, polishing, lapping)
• Thread cutting and repair (internal/external)
• Boring, turning, facing, slotting operations
• Engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T
• Dimensional inspection (micrometer, caliper, gauge)
• Knowledge of aviation standards (AS9100, Part 145, CMM, SPM, Sbs, ADs)
• Understanding of metallurgy and aviation materials
