Maintenance Technician

About the role

Tramigo is seeking a Maintenance Technician to deliver high-quality elevator and escalator service in Nairobi. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring safety standards are met while interacting directly with customers on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on elevators and escalators following KONE methods and safety standards.
• Respond to service calls, often using a motorcycle, to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Accurately record work performed and submit service documentation and timesheets on time.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, site contacts, and end‑users.
• Identify potential site risks, report safety concerns, and uphold a safe working environment.
• Recommend and obtain approval for unplanned repairs, and carry out approved work.

Required profile

• Vocational Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the elevator and escalator industry.
• Experience with both KONE and non‑KONE equipment is advantageous.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic IT proficiency and ability to use digital service tools and reporting systems.
• Willingness to travel to sites on a motorcycle.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
