Manager & Senior Associate – Projects

About the role
Instiglio is seeking experienced professionals to join its Nairobi office as Managers and Senior Associates on project teams that operate at the intersection of public policy, institutional reform, and Results‑Based Financing (RBF). The roles involve overseeing project execution, advising governments and development partners, and contributing to the growth of the East Africa practice.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of RBF instruments and data‑driven performance management systems.
- Develop proposals, client deliverables, and presentations that translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Manage project budgets, contracts, and subcontractor relationships, anticipating and mitigating risks.
- Plan, delegate, and supervise tasks across multiple workstreams to ensure timely and high‑quality outcomes.
- Conduct data analyses to generate actionable hypotheses and recommendations.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and capacity building.
- Support the expansion of the Nairobi office through recruitment, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 years (Senior Associate) or 8 years (Manager) of experience in international development, strategy consulting, or the public sector.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in data‑driven decision making.
- Excellent communication skills for diverse public and private sector audiences.
- Commitment to learning, curiosity about development challenges, and alignment with Instiglio’s mission.
