Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (Mid-Level)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services for high‑value construction projects in Nairobi. The role involves overseeing HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and related systems from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Design and coordinate HVAC, piping, firefighting and plumbing systems.
• Collaborate with structural, electrical and architectural teams.
• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical works.
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates and monitor budgets.
• Advise on procurement of equipment such as chillers and pumps.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan regulations, international codes and HSE standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in building or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA) and Kenyan standards.
• Proven ability to manage full project lifecycles.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
