MWR Warehouse Specialist

About the role

The MWR Warehouse Specialist supports a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia, handling inventory, hazardous materials, and customer service for Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) facilities. The role ensures safe, efficient warehouse operations and contributes to the overall mission success.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store, and distribute supplies and inventory for MWR programs.
• Handle hazardous materials in compliance with CNICINST 1710.3 safety standards.
• Maintain inventory control systems, track stock levels, and document movements.
• Perform quality checks on all items and ensure they meet required standards.
• Provide professional customer service to MWR staff and guests, adhering to AECR standards.
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized according to health and safety regulations.
• Train and mentor team members on warehouse operations and hazardous‑materials handling.
• Resolve inventory, delivery, and supply‑chain issues in coordination with supervisors.
• Prepare and maintain records of all receipts, movements, and issuances.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management).
• Formal training and certification to operate warehouse equipment.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain before employment.
• Willingness to complete required training and annual recertifications (Customer Service, First Aid, Hazardous Materials Procedures, Local Emergency Procedures).
