Network Engineer – Campus Infrastructure

About the role

The Network Engineer will design, implement, secure and continuously improve Zetech University’s campus network across multiple sites. You will ensure reliable internet access, robust connectivity for teaching, research and administration, and provide technical support to users and enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, firewall, routing and switching infrastructure.
• Install and manage routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, controllers, structured cabling, fibre links, patch panels, cabinets and UPS‑backed equipment.
• Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, IP address plans, VLAN schemes and change logs.
• Perform preventive maintenance, firmware updates, configuration backups and equipment lifecycle reviews.
• Implement network security controls such as firewall rules, VLAN segmentation, ACLs, VPN security and intrusion‑prevention systems.
• Monitor traffic, logs and alerts to detect performance issues, cyber threats and unauthorized access.
• Support integration with CCTV, access control, student management systems, ERP, LMS, email, cloud platforms and other enterprise applications.

Required profile

• Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Professional networking certification (CCNA, CCNP or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in network design, implementation and support.
• Experience in a university, large institution, ISP, data centre or multi‑site environment is an advantage.
• Familiarity with CCTV, access control, IP telephony, cloud services or enterprise systems integration is a plus.
