Nurse Manager

About the role

The Nurse Manager will provide strategic leadership for nursing services across a high‑volume outpatient facility in Nairobi. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures alignment with the medical centre’s vision while overseeing clinical governance, patient safety, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement nursing strategic and operational plans.
• Oversee outpatient clinics, infusion/day‑care, oncology, wellness, and supportive care services.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including medical, pharmacy, laboratory, and allied health professionals.
• Drive patient safety, infection control, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage staffing, shift scheduling, and workflow optimization for a 24‑hour outpatient environment.
• Standardize clinical documentation and support EMR/EHR system utilization.
• Assist in budgeting, resource allocation, equipment procurement, and infrastructure planning.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate nursing leadership and frontline staff, fostering continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration and practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive nursing experience, with at least 3‑5 years in a senior nursing leadership role.
• Experience managing complex, multi‑shift, high‑volume healthcare settings.
