Operations Manager (Commodity Sourcing & Supply Chain)

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead the commodity sourcing and supply‑chain function for Kaziweza Limited, overseeing both local and international logistics. You will coordinate with suppliers, clients, shipping lines, transporters and 3PL partners worldwide to ensure seamless end‑to‑end execution.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily activities of the operations team.
• Manage workload, ensure coverage and drive accountability.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues and resolve them efficiently.
• Lead cross‑functional coordination with trading, treasury, trade finance and other internal departments.
• Design, communicate and enforce clear operational processes across teams.
• Act as a bridge between teams and senior management to ensure alignment and execution.
• Oversee shipment execution (containers, trucking, bulk & break‑bulk) from start to finish.
• Coordinate with international suppliers, clients and service providers.
• Maintain accurate system updates, documentation and payment follow‑ups.
• Monitor stock movements, reconciliations and operational controls.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan and international regulations.
• Train, guide and develop the team to improve performance.
• Identify issues proactively and implement sustainable solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Logistics, International Relations, Commerce or Trade.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• 3–5 years of operations experience with proven leadership.
• Supply‑chain, logistics or multi‑commodity experience is advantageous.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and hands‑on approach.
• Experience with international logistics and multi‑country operations.
