Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead day‑to‑day operational activities for our Nairobi hub, ensuring smooth logistics, accurate documentation, and efficient warehouse processes. Reporting to the Country Manager and collaborating with the East Africa Operations Manager, you will drive continuous improvement while complying with local regulations and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate shipments, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with local customs and Incoterms.
• Oversee warehouse functions including receipt, storage, repacking, inventory accuracy, and dispatch readiness.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records in the company’s ERP system and monitor operational performance.
• Manage relationships with carriers, forwarders, customs agents, and other third‑party service providers.
• Control inventory shrink, enforce HSE standards, and supervise equipment maintenance.
• Analyse performance data, propose efficiency gains, and report to direct and functional managers.
• Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply‑chain operations within a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of local customs procedures, trade documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to lead and coordinate staff, contractors, and external service providers.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on cost control and service‑level improvement.
