Operations Room Supervisor – Security

About the role

Our client, a leading private ranch in Kenya, is seeking an Operations Room Supervisor. This senior tactical position leads the operations centre during assigned shifts, coordinates incident response, and ensures readiness across communication, monitoring, and reporting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operations room during assigned shifts, coordinating operators and ensuring effective monitoring, communication, and information flow.
• Command incident response processes, ensuring incidents are assessed, prioritized, escalated, and coordinated according to established procedures.
• Maintain operational readiness of communication, monitoring, dispatch, and incident management systems, identifying and escalating equipment or system gaps.
• Manage radio communications, ensuring proper net management, channel discipline, call protocols, and adherence to communication procedures.
• Monitor and coordinate field operations, maintaining situational awareness and providing tactical direction during incidents.
• Prepare accurate operational reports and shift handovers, documenting incidents, actions taken, outstanding issues, and operational trends.
• Identify capability gaps in equipment, procedures, systems, or personnel and recommend improvements to senior management.

Required profile

• A Degree or Diploma in Security Management, ICT, Criminology or KCSE qualification with at least a B in Mathematics and English.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in security, military, law enforcement, wildlife protection, or an operations centre environment.
• Demonstrated tactical or command experience with the ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of radio communication protocols, including net management, channel discipline, and escalation procedures.
• High IT literacy and experience operating or supervising multi‑platform monitoring, dispatch, or incident management systems.
