Petroleum Audit and Risk Analyst

About the role

The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum is seeking an entry‑level Petroleum Audit and Risk Analyst. This position will work under the supervision of a senior officer, providing support for petroleum audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse information required for petroleum audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Assist in reviewing work programmes, budgets, field development plans and other petroleum proposals.
• Monitor compliance with petroleum agreements, government approvals, statutory payments, guarantees and other obligations.
• Participate in examination of upstream petroleum operations books of account and verification of accounting entries, material records, inventories, vouchers and invoices.
• Inspect plants, facilities and warehouses of petroleum operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting option), Accounting & Finance, or Economics & Finance from a recognised Kenyan university.
• Successful completion of Part III of the CPA examination or Part III of the ACCA examination, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

What we offer

• Basic salary scale Ksh 45,210 – Ksh 61,020 per month (CSG 10).
• House allowance of Ksh 16,500 per month.
• Commuter allowance of Ksh 5,000 per month.
• Leave allowance and annual leave as provided by the Civil Service.
• Medical cover as provided by the Government.
• Permanent, pensionable contract.
