Phone Repairs Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Phone Repairs Technician to join our Phone Line Assembly team. The role focuses on repairing and testing returned M‑KOPA smartphones and accessories to ensure a reliable swap‑stock for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse smartphone components to identify defects and failure modes.
• Perform initial screening and quality checks on all faulty devices.
• Execute technical repairs using hand tools and power tools, following the latest product specifications.
• Test and inspect repaired units to confirm functionality and prevent future failures.
• Refurbish repaired products and prepare them for dispatch to retail outlets.
• Maintain repair equipment through regular checks, part replacement, and troubleshooting.
• Capture accurate repair data, fault codes and resolutions in the tracking system.
• Conduct periodic cycle counts and monthly stock counts while adhering to Kaizen 6S principles.
• Meet daily repair targets to keep swap‑stock levels sufficient.

Required profile

• Diploma in electronics engineering.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in electronics repair or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and operate independently.
• Positive attitude towards continuous learning and skill development.
