Platform Development and Analytics Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme is seeking a Platform Development and Analytics Consultant to enhance and optimise key environmental reporting and monitoring platforms. The role will focus on system efficiency, migration of applications, and integration of new data pipelines across multiple UN initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise the UNEP GEF Project Implementation Report (PIR) platform for the FY 2026 cycle.
• Migrate the CITES Monitoring of the Illegal Killing of Elephants (MIKE) application from PHP to Drupal, improving database performance and supporting deployment on UNICC servers in Geneva.
• Enhance the Foresight application portal by adding a user‑management module, moving configuration data from Excel to a database, and creating pipelines to ingest new signals from Microsoft Forms.
• Develop and implement a Household Waste Categorisation web application for Lesotho using Artificial Intelligence techniques.

Required profile

• Proven experience in platform development and analytics consulting for international or multilateral projects.
