Plumbing Estimator

About the role

The company is seeking a Plumbing Estimator to develop accurate cost proposals for commercial construction projects in Nairobi. The role involves using specialized estimating software, reviewing technical drawings, and collaborating with project teams to ensure bids are competitive and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed plumbing estimates using QuickPlumb estimating software.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to define project scope.
• Perform material, labor, and equipment quantity takeoffs.
• Solicit and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop complete project budgets, cost estimates, and bid proposals.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
• Maintain up‑to‑date pricing databases for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Coordinate with Project Managers during handover to ensure smooth transition.
• Attend pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in plumbing estimating, preferably on commercial projects.
• Proven proficiency with QuickPlumb estimating software.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Excellent understanding of plumbing systems, installation methods, construction practices, and relevant codes.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
