Power Systems Manager

About the role

The Power Systems Manager will lead the operation, maintenance and reliability of all electrical power assets for the organization. This senior position reports to senior management and ensures safe, efficient and compliant power delivery across facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, maintenance and reliability of electrical power systems.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Supervise electrical technicians, contractors and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with electrical, safety and regulatory standards.
• Monitor power consumption and propose energy‑efficiency measures.
• Manage installation, upgrades, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Respond promptly to faults, outages and emergencies.
• Lead power‑related projects, budgets and contractor engagements.
• Conduct regular inspections and performance assessments of systems.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Fully registered Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a valid practising licence.
• Significant experience in power systems management, preferably in real estate, construction or facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, generators, transformers and switchgear.
• Excellent leadership, problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
• Effective communication skills for reporting to senior management.
