Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will oversee the sourcing and purchasing of food, beverages, housekeeping supplies, kitchen equipment and other hotel essentials for our hospitality operations in Nairobi. You will ensure that all items meet quality standards while achieving cost‑effective results.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of food, beverages, housekeeping supplies, kitchen equipment and general hotel supplies.
• Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
• Obtain and compare quotations to secure competitive pricing.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate with stores and relevant departments to avoid shortages.
• Ensure procured items meet the hotel’s quality standards.
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations and keep an updated supplier database.
• Track market prices and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with Finance, Stores, Kitchen, Housekeeping and other departments.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and produce regular purchasing reports.
• Follow up on orders to guarantee timely delivery.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in the hotel/hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of hotel purchasing and supplier management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
