Programme Management Officer – Fixed Term

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a Programme Management Officer on a fixed‑term basis to support its Knowledge and Innovation Branch in Nairobi. The role contributes to global monitoring of the New Urban Agenda and to the design, implementation and evaluation of programmes that promote sustainable urban development.

Key responsibilities

• Support global monitoring and reporting of the New Urban Agenda.
• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes and projects, including monitoring progress and proposing corrective actions.
• Conduct consulting assignments, facilitate workshops and assist clients in developing change‑management action plans.
• Research, analyse and present information from diverse sources; prepare background papers, analyses and report sections.
• Assist in policy development, review trends and prepare evaluations or research studies.
• Design and conduct surveys, develop data‑collection tools, analyse responses and prepare conclusions.
• Provide substantive support for meetings, conferences and outreach activities, including agenda setting, participant identification and preparation of documents.
• Participate in or lead field missions, offering guidance to external partners.
