Programme Management Officer

About the role

The Programme Management Officer will be based in Nairobi within OCHA's Information Services Section. Reporting to the Chief of the Information Services Section, the incumbent will lead the Community Platforms Unit and provide strategic direction for the ReliefWeb platform.

Key responsibilities

• Serves as product manager for ReliefWeb, providing strategic leadership, defining the long‑term roadmap and aligning delivery with organisational priorities and user needs.
• Develops, implements and evaluates programmes and projects, monitors progress, analyses results and initiates corrective actions.
• Facilitates workshops, interactive sessions and contributes to quarterly work‑plans, product roadmaps and action plans, balancing stakeholder priorities, user needs, technical feasibility and organisational capacity.
• Builds relationships with product managers of other OCHA platforms, contributing to common data standards, schemas and AI integration in line with the overall strategy.
• Researches, analyses and presents information from diverse sources to inform decision‑making.
• Coordinates policy development, reviews trends, prepares evaluations and other research outputs.
• Designs and conducts surveys to understand user needs, analyses responses and prepares conclusions.
• Prepares written outputs such as background papers, analysis sections, reports and inputs to publications.
• Initiates and coordinates outreach activities, including training workshops, seminars and presentations on assigned topics.
