Qualitative Account Manager

About the role

As a Qualitative Account Manager at Kantar in Nairobi, you will help leading East African organisations make confident decisions by turning deep consumer insights into actionable recommendations that drive growth, innovation and improved customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted client relationships through a deep understanding of client objectives, sector dynamics and business challenges.
• Lead qualitative research projects from design through to debrief, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to high‑quality standards.
• Design robust research approaches, discussion guides and frameworks that answer complex business questions.
• Translate consumer understanding into clear, actionable recommendations for brand, innovation, customer experience and marketing decisions.
• Identify opportunities to grow client accounts through additional research programmes and broader Kantar solutions.
• Coach and support junior researchers through feedback, collaboration and on‑the‑job development.
• Contribute to proposals, pitches and thought‑leadership activities that strengthen Kantar’s market position.

Required profile

• Expertise across a range of qualitative methodologies, including focus groups, in‑depth interviews, ethnography, online communities, diaries, immersions and co‑creation.
• Strong moderation and facilitation capability in both in‑person and online environments.
• Ability to synthesize multiple sources of information into clear insight narratives and commercial recommendations.
• Experience managing multiple projects, client priorities, budgets and delivery schedules simultaneously.
• Proven ability to build lasting client relationships while identifying opportunities for account growth.
