Quality Inspector – Automotive Workshop

About the role

The Quality Inspector will lead the inspection of new vehicles and body‑building projects at Simba Group’s automotive workshop in Nairobi. Reporting to the Head of Department, the role ensures that all vehicles, components and accessories meet manufacturer, NTSA and KEBS standards before delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) for all new vehicles, verifying bodies, conversions, local components and accessories.
• Inspect and certify vehicle quality during and after fabrication according to manufacturer, NTSA and KEBS guidelines.
• Supervise body‑building activities to minimise lead times and improve customer satisfaction.
• Evaluate and grade external body builders on a monthly basis and maintain a performance database.
• Prepare weekly status reports on body‑building units to monitor delivery schedules and performance.
• Resolve customer complaints related to body work and support continuous improvement at body‑building sites.
• Inspect quality of locally sourced components and accessories.

Required profile

• Degree or advanced diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or related field).
• At least 7 years of hands‑on experience in an automotive workshop, body‑building or production environment.
• Strong organisational, coordination and report‑writing abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
