About the role
The Africa Center for Health Systems and Gender Justice is seeking an intern to support its Responsible AI and Data Governance programme. This role will contribute to research, policy analysis, and documentation that promote ethical AI use and protect digital rights.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in drafting policy briefs, guidelines, and reports on responsible AI and data protection.
- Conduct literature reviews on AI ethics, privacy law, and gender‑focused data governance.
- Support the development of community‑centered, rights‑based frameworks for AI deployment.
- Document findings, prepare presentations, and help organise stakeholder consultations.
Required profile
- Background in law, public policy, ethics, data governance, public health, gender studies or related fields.
- Strong interest in responsible AI, digital rights, privacy and data protection.
- Understanding of research ethics and safeguarding principles is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, writing and documentation abilities.
