Restaurant Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Restaurant Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our fast‑growing MaliBowl concept at Village Market. You will be the face of the restaurant, ensuring a smooth, fast, and friendly service from opening to close while taking full ownership of costs, people, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house service from opening to closing.
• Be present on the floor during peak periods to drive speed, accuracy, and customer experience.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
• Motivate and support the team, stepping into any station when short‑staffed.
• Manage opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, floats, and end‑of‑day reconciliation.
• Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and brand standards at all times.
• Control stock and waste, perform par‑level checks, raise requisitions, and resolve variances.
• Ensure food safety through temperature checks, labeling, FIFO, and bain‑marie monitoring.
• Build staff schedules, track attendance, and cover sick calls or no‑shows.
• Conduct monthly team training, keep records, and submit daily and monthly reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising a team in a restaurant, café, or fast‑casual environment (minimum 3 years).
• Natural leader who commands respect, coaches staff, and stays calm under pressure.
• Strong people and customer‑service skills with the ability to resolve issues on the spot.
• Organised, detail‑driven, and disciplined in reporting and follow‑through.
• Sharp focus on numbers, stock, waste, and cost control.
• Reliable, honest, and able to run the floor unsupervised.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling.
• Basic competency in Google Drive and Google Docs for reporting.
