Risk and Compliance Officer

About the role

VisionFund Kenya is seeking a diligent Risk and Compliance Officer to support the Risk and Compliance Manager. You will help implement and monitor risk management and compliance frameworks, ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in identifying business weaknesses and economic trends that could affect the company.
• Maintain the risk register by tracking daily risk events, updating scores, and ensuring controls are effective.
• Keep compliance software and databases up‑to‑date and monitor local and international regulations.
• Draft initial versions of periodic reports for management and regulators.
• Create checklists to verify that audit findings are addressed by other departments.
• Review company policies to spot potential loopholes.
• Organise training sessions to promote compliance awareness.
• Ensure all policy, procedure, and control documents are current and easily accessible.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in finance, business administration, risk management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional certifications in risk or compliance are a plus.
