School Bus Driver – Primary & JSS

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, mature, and highly responsible School Bus Driver to join our primary and JSS educational institution in Mavoko, Athi‑River. This live‑in position ensures the safe transportation of students while supporting overall school operations.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school on designated routes between 6 AM and 6 PM.
• Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and routine mechanical checks.
• Maintain compliance with bi‑annual NTSA inspections and ensure functional speed limiters are connected to the NTSA monitoring system.
• Perform general maintenance of school premises and facilities as needed.
• Assist with school events, administrative tasks, and emergency response duties when required.

Required profile

• High integrity, trustworthiness and a mature, dedicated professional attitude.
• Patience, calm demeanour with children and excellent communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable and physically fit for emergency situations.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules and willingness to live on‑site.

Required skills

• Valid Kenyan driver’s licence and a valid PSV driver’s licence (Class D or Class E).
• Minimum 5 years PSV driving experience with an excellent driving record.
• Strong knowledge of traffic regulations and road safety.
• First Aid certification (preferred).
• Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
• Experience with school transportation and ability to manage/supervise children (preferred).
