Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to lead day‑to‑day accounting and financial reporting for our agribusiness operations. The role involves ensuring IFRS compliance, maintaining accurate records, and supporting statutory and tax audits.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting tasks and manage month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, provisions and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Handle accounting for inventory, fixed assets, AP, AR, intercompany and joint‑venture transactions.
• Prepare financial reporting schedules and assist in the preparation of management and statutory reports.
• Support external, statutory and tax audits by providing schedules and responding to queries.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies and transfer‑pricing requirements.
• Manage Kenya tax accounting, including VAT, withholding tax and corporate income tax.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and drive continuous improvement of controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA(K), ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
• 3‑5 years experience at a Big Four firm (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years in a multinational, industrial, manufacturing, energy, agribusiness or EPZ environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Kenyan tax regulations.
