Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, results‑driven Senior Accountant to join Kengas Group’s Finance and Accounts team in Nairobi. The role involves maintaining robust internal controls, ensuring statutory compliance and delivering accurate financial reporting across the Group’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and present monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets and performance reports for senior management.
• Research expense variances, support month‑end closing and review project performance reports.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, calculate depreciation and oversee asset disposals.
• Execute accounts receivable and payable functions, manage debtor collections and reconcile customer accounts.
• Conduct stock reconciliations across all branches, including tank and transit inventories.
• Ensure 100 % compliance with statutory requirements, file taxes on time and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Perform internal audits for branch offices and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies such as KRA.
• Assist the Finance Director in developing financial policies, capital project analysis and market price assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• CPA (K) finalist and active member of ICPAK.
• Minimum 8 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret financial data and advise management.
