Senior Associate, Programmes

About the role

The Senior Associate will support Kenya’s Deworm the World Initiative, leading the transition of the national STH/SCH programme to targeted treatment, surveillance and government‑led control. The role manages multiple workstreams, provides technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and county systems, and ensures evidence‑led implementation of school‑based deworming where needed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate targeted treatment, surveillance, classification and related workstreams in line with national STH/SCH guidance.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical assistance to Ministry of Health and county partners, supporting planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement.
• Review programme plans, SOPs and reports, documenting implementation challenges and recommendations.
• Maintain and update county classification and surveillance data, support impact assessments and facilitate timely notify‑verify‑investigate‑respond actions.
• Ensure accurate data flow into KHIS, eCHIS and other reporting systems and support drug quantification and supply‑chain reporting.
• Supervise field teams, train data collectors and oversee post‑MDA reconciliation and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Project Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience implementing health programmes.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with government stakeholders.
• Strong multitasking, time‑management and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, reliable and proactive attitude.
