Senior Full-Stack Engineer

About the role

You’ll join a small senior engineering team building mission‑critical software for clinics, retailers and SACCOs across East Africa. The role involves leading technical design for a major client engagement and mentoring mid‑level engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver full‑stack features using TypeScript, Node.js and PostgreSQL.
• Lead integrations with M‑Pesa Daraja, KRA eTIMS, SHA/PIMS and core banking APIs.
• Own production reliability: set up alerting, write runbooks and participate in on‑call rotation.
• Mentor 2‑3 engineers, conduct code reviews and guide best practices.
• Collaborate with product and client teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience building production web applications.
• Proven deep expertise in TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Strong background in PostgreSQL schema design, query optimisation and migrations.
• Experience delivering at least one payments or regulatory integration.
• Ability to lead technical design and mentor junior engineers.
