Senior Software Engineer – Play Platform

About the role

Google’s engineers build large‑scale technologies that reach billions of users. In this role you will develop and ship features for Google Play that run on every Android device, focusing on experiences for gamers and game developers. You will collaborate closely with product managers and UX designers to deliver high‑quality, usable products.

Key responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• Review code from other developers and provide feedback on style, testability and efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content, updating it based on product changes.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues affecting hardware, network, or service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 + years of software development experience.
• 3 + years testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 + year experience in software design and architecture.
• Experience with server‑side programming.
• Master’s degree or PhD (preferred).
• 5 + years experience with data structures and algorithms (preferred).
• 1 + year in a technical leadership role (preferred).
• Experience developing accessible technologies (preferred).
