Senior Store / Inventory Manager

About the role

The Senior Store / Inventory Manager will lead all store and warehouse activities for Claid Africa Africa Group Limited in Nairobi. Reporting to the General Manager / Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient material flow and optimal warehouse utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day store and warehouse operations.
• Develop, implement and maintain robust inventory management and stock‑control systems.
• Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, issuing and dispatch of raw materials and finished goods.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts, reconcile variances and ensure timely reporting.
• Monitor stock levels, reorder points, slow‑moving, damaged and obsolete inventory.
• Optimise warehouse space, stock utilisation and inventory turnover.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Production, Sales and Operations teams.
• Lead, train and develop the stores and warehouse team, setting KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards and manage internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
• 8–15+ years of progressive experience in stores, inventory or warehouse management, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG or high‑volume environments.
• Proven experience leading large, complex inventory operations and managing teams.
• Professional qualifications such as CIPS or KISM are an advantage.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with ERP/Warehouse Management Systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities.
