Shipping In-Charge

About the role

The Shipping In-Charge will lead a team of 30‑40 staff to ensure accurate and timely dispatch of FMCG, dairy and beverage products. The role focuses on managing warehouse operations, route planning and maintaining key performance indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping, dispatch and warehouse activities to meet delivery schedules.
• Plan, allocate and reconcile sales routes, van sales and driver assignments.
• Supervise and coordinate salesmen, drivers, warehouse personnel and other operational staff.
• Conduct manpower planning, shift allocation and monitor team productivity.
• Manage stock processes including FIFO, physical counts, inward/outward movements and inventory accuracy.
• Handle return management, route reconciliation and transport documentation (POD).
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS and operational reports.
• Monitor warehouse KPIs and ensure compliance with cold‑chain and safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field (preferred).
• 4‑5 years of experience in FMCG, dairy or beverage distribution.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team of 30‑40 employees.
• Strong understanding of stock management, FIFO, warehouse operations and cold‑chain handling.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP (transaction processing, reporting and inventory/warehouse functions).

• Competitive gross salary ranging from 190,000 to 225,000 KES per month.
