Short‑Haul Driver

About the role

Victory Farms is seeking a reliable Short‑Haul Driver to transport fresh fish, inputs and other company goods between its logistics centres and branch locations across Kenya. The role requires maintaining cold‑chain integrity and ensuring timely, safe deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Transport fresh fish, inputs and other goods safely and efficiently between logistics centres and branches.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any faults or safety concerns.
• Maintain cold‑chain integrity for perishable products during transit.
• Plan and adjust routes using navigation tools such as Google Maps to avoid delays.
• Ensure vehicles are fueled, clean and operational at all times.
• Assist with loading and off‑loading while following proper handling procedures.
• Complete delivery documentation accurately, including trip logs and inspection reports.
• Communicate regularly with logistics and dispatch teams regarding trip progress.
• Practice defensive driving and adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum KCSE certificate; diploma or higher is an advantage.
• Valid Class C driving licence.
• At least 3 years of proven commercial driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks and NTSA regulations.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with navigation applications (e.g., Google Maps).
• Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle upkeep.
