Site Accountant

About the role

The Site Accountant will manage day‑to‑day financial activities for construction projects, ensuring budgets are adhered to, cash flow is controlled, and financial records are accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain employee attendance and leave records.
• Prepare and process overtime requisitions and monthly payroll for permanent staff and casual labour.
• Update employee files for hires, transfers, resignations and terminations.
• Issue HR‑related correspondence such as employment confirmations, warnings and termination letters.
• Manage site petty cash, reconcile payments and maintain supporting vouchers.
• Maintain accurate records of site expenditures, inventory and fixed‑asset registers.
• Conduct periodic stock takes and ensure proper filing of financial documents.
• Liaise with statutory bodies (NSSF, SHA, NITA, HELB) to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support internal audit exercises and enforce company financial policies.
• Adhere to environmental health & safety procedures and present a professional appearance.

Required profile

• CPA Part II or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (preferred).
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in accounting, finance or site administration.
• Mid‑level experience as indicated in the posting.
