Social Media Manager – Digital

About the role

The Social Media Manager will design and execute social media strategies for Ogilvy Africa’s clients, building strong online presences, engaging target audiences, and driving brand awareness. You will lead a team of Social Media Executives, oversee content creation, and ensure performance aligns with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with client objectives, setting measurable KPIs.
• Create, curate, and schedule high‑quality content across platforms such as Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and more.
• Engage with audiences, respond to comments and messages, and foster community growth.
• Monitor trends, analyze performance metrics, and produce regular reports for clients and internal teams.
• Manage paid social campaigns (Meta Ads, X Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads) in collaboration with the paid media team.
• Act as primary client contact, coordinating with cross‑functional teams, influencers, and platform partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role in an agency or digital environment.
• Strong understanding of social media algorithms, community management, and paid social best practices.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer.
• Experience using social listening and analytics platforms.
• Graphic design skills with tools like Canva and Photoshop.
• Video editing capabilities.
