Software Support Engineer – Remote

About the role

Boost Technology is looking for a Software Support Engineer to act as the bridge between its engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. You will troubleshoot technical issues, ship production code fixes, and ensure a smooth experience for thousands of informal retailers using the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems in the codebase.
• Develop and deploy production‑ready fixes and enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline by creating automated test suites to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with distributed teams across different time zones and cultures.
• Document best practices and share knowledge with the broader engineering group.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in engineering, product, or technical support, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple regions.
