Software Support Engineer – Remote

About the role

Boost Technology is looking for a Software Support Engineer to act as the bridge between its engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will troubleshoot technical issues, ship production fixes, and help improve the platform that serves thousands of informal retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems by investigating root causes in the codebase.
• Develop and ship production‑ready fixes, tests, and platform enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline, building automated test suites to prevent regressions and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑cultural teams to translate technical requirements into actionable solutions.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL) with a strong desire to dive into code and AWS infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills, able to bridge technical and non‑technical needs across different cultures and time zones.
