Software Support Engineer – Remote

About the role

Boost Technology is looking for a Software Support Engineer to act as the critical bridge between its engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will triage technical issues, ship production code fixes, and ensure a smooth experience for thousands of informal retailers using the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems by investigating root causes in the codebase.
• Develop and deploy production‑ready fixes, tests, and platform enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline, creating automated test suites to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with cross‑cultural teams to translate technical requirements into actionable solutions.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL) with a strong desire to work on AWS‑based infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders across different cultures and time zones.
